Family History or "Oh My God, My Grandfather Was a Spy"

For the last few years, it has been my intention to apply to the FBI (as soon as I become eligible). Today I was discussing this with my mother and I wondered out loud why was I so interested in pursuing this career. My mother suggested that government work ran in the family and mentioned that her father had been in military intelligence (I'd always known that he had been in the military, but nothing else). In fact his nickname was "Super Spook". I was completely floored by this. The only instance of his military career that I can remember hearing was that he had once acted as a bodyguard for the Shah of Iran.

But this little tidbit had made me realize that families are alway more interesting than people think.
