I Wonder...

Since I joined the HP fandom in February I’ve noticed something that bothers me. There seems to be an overwhelming sense of…well, I guess I would say, negative extremism. I mean the Marauders were once seen as a group of pranksters, now their vicious bullying gits (caveat:that was what they were in that scene, I'm speaking in a general sense). Percy Weasley was always a pompous, authority-loving person, now he’s a Death Eater in training. The Order of the Phoenix showed a darker side to just about everyone (including Harry). Yet, I wonder if people haven’t taken this just a little too far. We have seen the worst these characters can be, but does that mean we have to discard the good that we know about them? I think the truth lies, as in most things, somewhere in the middle.
