Why is it that fic author's always ask their readers to be gentle on them. I've yet to publish a fanfic, but I've been writing since I was nine years old and I must say that it's annoying to me if I think that someone's going easy on my story. I might not like what you have to say and I can't actually read the criticism right away but I think it's more helpful if you ask you readers to be honest rather than nice.
