And Now For Something A Little Less Serious...

Netflix has sent me the first season of Robin Hood. Now I'm wondering whether it's worth watching or not.

*thinks very, very hard*

Um... :D

If you go in realizing it's a cross between Xena and the Robin Hood gang from Shrek, you might be fine.

:D (And throw in a dash of the Dukes of Hazzard.)

Well, I did like Xena (the first couple of years anyway). And it's not like I've never watched anything that could be construed as silly or the result of a crack binge.

Oh, it's still worth watching. Just don't expect a high level of story quality. Just expect silliness and some fun.

It's...it's...eh. I liked the cast, for the most part, but the writing left a lot to be desired. It descends into cheese-ville pretty damn quickly, and when it tries to resurrect itself by making Crusade/Iraq parallels (which it would be a crime not to make) it's just never convincing.

The Sheriff, though...freakin' hysterical. Totally made of awesome.

I'm a bit biased against the show, though, because my mother is holy bejeebus obsessed with it, and rode my ass until I conceded and watched it. Even then, I had to watch the last three episodes with her watching me watch it.

Yeah, it got a bit tiresome.

But Sam Troughton is a cutie, and they should have him on Doctor Who. It'd be criminal not to! His granddaddy was Two!
