Just got back from seeing Star Trek. It's been a long time since a movie had me leaving the theatre with a cheese-tastic grin on my face. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I did, however, spend a lot of the movie dealing with a fidgety six year old with a lot of questions. Loved the movie though. I was surprised and pleased by a lot of things in it.
I'm sitting in a computer lab getting ready to leave for class when suddenly I realise that in all of my comic book reading history, the original "New Mutants" were the only team where I really liked every body (next is the original X-Men but I never actually like all of them at the same time).
As a self-described geek there have been some things that I've always felt but never wanted to admit, should I loose some of my geek cred. But I thought, what the hell, why not come clean?
1. I have never enjoyed any of the Star Wars films. I want to. I really truly wish that I liked them because part of me thinks I should, but I just can never get into them.
2. Futurama is better than Simpsons. 'nuff said.
3. Despite being a girl and huge comic book fan, I hate Wonder Woman. Maybe hate is a strong term but I've never really liked her.
4. I enjoyed Superman Returns waaaaaay more than Batman Begins (corallary: I have no interest in ever seeing "The Dark Knight").
5. I've never been able to get into The Watchmen (and I'm someone who generally likes Alan Moore).
6. The Dark Knight Returns was boring and frankly off puting. I'm not a fan of Frank Miller at all.
