Listen you silly children writing this idiotic drivel and then labeling it AU. Stop it. Now.

Just.

Don't.

Do it.

It makes you look silly and it makes me want to throttle you. Changing cannon details just because you like your version better isn't a good thing. If there isn't a reason for the difference, it won't make any sense (although if you're writing this crap, you probably don't care). If you're writing a HP fic and decide that you want Lily to have been in to have survived that night, fine. But you should follow the logic from cannon. Lily died because she wouldn't move aside for Voldemort. If she's still alive in your world, then it follows that Harry probably isn't. If you are writing a VM fic and Lilly didn't die, you have to explain why. You can't just say "Lilly's alive" and have anything make sense! If you have Logan and Veronica hookup in middle school instead of Lilly and Logan (as stupid as that is) explain why. If you have Bill break up with Fleur, you should give a reason other than you dislike the character. There has to be a difference between that universe and the one that was presented in cannon. "Because I like it that way" isn't a good reason. It isn't even a real reason, you petulant, self-indulgent ninnies.

Okay. I think I've gotten that all out. God I hate people sometimes.

I am endeavoring to make sims from all of my favorite fictional universes and I find that it's a lot of fun. This is the list of what I've got so far:

Harry Potter:

Ron Weasley
Ginny Weasley
Molly Weasley
Petunia Dursley
Lily Potter

Vorkosigan Saga:

Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan
(I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do Miles, but it'll be WA era Miles, so I'll probably use a teen and then use SimPe to adjust the height).

Veronica Mars:

Veronica Mars (*grumbles loudly*, damned thing has taken forever to get right--still not satisfied)
Lilly Kane (*more grumbling* I'm this close *holds fingers barely apart* to hating both Kristen Bell and Amanda Seyfried-stupid features take forever to get right)
Duncan Kane
Keith Mars (sidenote: was actually made from a male version of an earlier "veronica")
Lianne Mars (finds Sim!Jake very attractive)
Jake Kane (finds Sim!Lianne very attractive)
Celeste Kane (she really hates Sim!Keith- don't think she's met Sim!Lianne though)

(I might make a Logan just for Symmetry, but I don't like him, so who knows)

Left Turn At Westchester: (Yes I making sims based on a defunct RPG based on a movie based on a comicbook, yadda, yadda- still think it was the single best thing I've ever done online and ranks up there in the list of best things that happened to me).

Kurt
Ororo
Wanda (the hair mesh I'm using isn't all that well made, imo, but it looks good in pics).
Pietro

And that's all I can think of right now.

Hmmm. I need to find a good mood theme. That's all.

I went to see GOF Sunday evening and I have to say I rather liked it (of course I still like POA, but that's only because I'm a bitch for a pretty movie; I'd probably be angry with it if I cared overly much about plot). My favorite thing about it; Ginny. Lots of Ginny. And the twins. For almost no reason. But they were all excellent. And the twins were quite yummy. I had my two year old nephew with me, and he spent most of the time running around the theatre, so I missed a bit of the movie, but I'm going to wait for the DVD, because I don't feel like paying $8.25 to see it again.

I loved the graveyard scene, Ralph rocked my socks off; he does good crazy. The only problem I had with Voldemort was the eyes, but *shrugs* otherwise quite good. There wasn't enough Miranda. She was really fabulous, I wished they'd followed through with the plot point. Oh, and despite the touchy-feely H&H, I don't really see how people can think this movie was H/H. I mean, the thing that sealed it for me was the scene on the bridge. They were talking about Viktor and she said something about him being physical and Harry just grins.

Oh, and I liked the Yule Ball and how uncomfortable they all were. I especially liked the "discussion" between Ron and Hermione, with Harry between them. That was awesome.

But the thing I absolutely loved was the bath scene. It was wonderful. Myrtle was hilarious and so was Harry when he kept trying to keep the bubbles in front of him so she wouldn't be able to see anything. All in all, I liked it, but I wished I'd been able to pay more attention to it.

These are two shorts I wrote. One was an exercise for a class, the other is HP related. In the first one, we had to write about woman whose abusive husband has died. We couldn't mention the husband, death and we couldn't directly refer to the abuse. The other is something I just wrote. It involves an idea I just had.

This was an interesting quizz for me. My results were as follows.

Gryffindor: 82/100
Ravenclaw: 81/100
Hufflepuff: 50/100
Slytherin: 47/100

I answered as honestly as I could. The interesting thing is that I always thought I would be considered either a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin. I was surprised that my highest score came out to be Gryffindor, even if it was by only one point

I’ve been reading Harry Potter for about five year now, though I just got into the online fandom about three months ago. The thing that surprised me most was the...intensity of the shipping debates going . I’d previously encountered shipping in my other fandom (X-Men) though to a much lesser degree. The first thing I thought was: This is utterly ridiculous. How can the simple question of who would become involved with who be so divisive?

If you wish to continue reading the Rambling )

I hope that made some sense, but if it didn't, I apologize. It's almost 3 am here and I am quite tired.

I'm from Ravenclaw!

Hogwart's Sorting Hat Quiz

made by The Genki Gang

This comes as absolutely no surprise to me. Though I do admit to wanting to be in Gryffindor sometimes.

*sigh*

I never get Gryffindor.
